SGC Solicitors have an experienced and dedicated team who can deal with all aspects of your proposed transaction. This may cover the sale, purchase or remortgage of a property, ownership which is freehold or leasehold, new build properties or right to buy, and auction or probate sales. We also deal with purchases with Help to Buy funding and Help to Buy ISA’s.
We also offer assistance with family transfers and charges to protect investment in a property.
If you give us the details of your Sale or Purchase we will give you a detailed and highly competitive quote including all the expense involved and no hidden “add-ons”.
But remember you must let us know the cost of the house you are buying and/or selling as well as its location. This is because stamp duty is charged on properties at different values. And the costs for searches, such as local authority and water authority, vary across the country.
Our expert team will ensure you receive a professional quality service. We treat our clients as individuals who deserve our attention and we are not a conveyancing factory. We wish to ensure our expert stays with you throughout the process to ensure your needs are satisfied. Our clients come back to us time and again because they know we will deal with their individual needs, our price is right and we have their trust.
When you decide to move house you should give careful thought to the steps to follow, as the process can not only be complicated but also stressful. It is an important decision, perhaps one of the biggest you will make.

The residential conveyancing department is overseen by Simon Fennemore, a Licensed Conveyancer and also a Director of the Firm. Simon has 13 years experience of all aspects of Residential Conveyancing and has been working at SGC since 2013. Prior to this Simon worked for HM Land Registry for many years. Sarah Roberts is a qualified Legal Executive with over 20 years of experience in residential conveyancing. Both Simon and Sarah are ably assisted by experienced support staff.
SGC cannot assist with Equity Release matters or overage provisions. We do not offer services relating to the administration of ID1 Forms or mortgage lender guarantees and mortgage lender independent advice. We cannot advise on Capital Gains Tax or other property related taxation issues apart from the payment of Stamp Duty (where relevant).
The conveyancing process will begin with our initial Client Care documentation. We will then carefully guide you through the pre exchange procedures and requirements whilst dealing with the administration of mortgage requirements, conveyancing searches and interaction with other solicitors and Law Firms involved. Time scales can be difficult to estimate at the outset of any matter, as there are many factors which can affect the conveyancing process but a rule of thumb would be between 8 and 12 weeks.
Clearly explain the typical steps in the conveyancing process.
Tell you what you can expect from us, and will provide a concise costs breakdown.
